The topic was an update on antibiotics for acute otitis media and upper airway obstruction as it relates to orthodontics.
Daniel presented the ENT approach to rhinoplasty, highlighting the importance of establishing and maintaining nasal function. Theo presented an up to date overview of laryngeal surgery, including voice restorative procedures which can now be done in the office under local anaesthetic.
In conjunction with leading orthodontist Dr Vas Srinivasan, David presented to GPs on the topic of the health implications of untreated upper airway disease in children. In this talk he highlighted behavioural problems, learning problems, heart problems, and orthodontic problems, all of which are improved with prompt referral and intervention.
Dr. McIntosh fixed 16 kids today in the private system, saving them from years of waiting in the public system.
